Bronchial asthma is
chronic disease characterised by increased resistance to airflow into trachea and
bronchi. It is due to bronchial constriction that secretes thick viscid mucus.
It produces mucosal oedema, damage to mucosal cell, damage to ciliated
epithelium, shortness of breath (Dyspnea), rapid respiration, cough, chest
tightness and wheezing. Duration and depth of symptoms varies from time to
time. It depends upon various factors.

Agonist: Metoprolol, Terbutaline, Salbutamol,

Non selective Adrenergic

Anticholinergic Drugs: Atropine,
Iprtropium Bromide
c.
Methyl Xanthine: Theophyline,
Aminophyline
B.
Mast Cell Stabilisers:
Cromolyn Sodium, Kitotifen
C.
Anti inflammatory Agents:
a.
Syetemic: Prednisolone,
Hydrocortisone
